CR is using the last generation VFR800 engine with Vtec...1 gen newer then your VFR..

The one you mention...should be Crosstourer..using the 1200cc engine

weight..surprising, it is lighter than the claimed 240kg...but still, provided some stability though...

Freakyairhead: yeah..saw your fren's Vara as well...haha! the camo thingy..DIY-ed...gotta ask if my fren got time to cut the stickers or not..cos its more of his free time hobby....

Hi, just wanna ask u guys, is it true that the Top speed has been electronically capped at 200km/h?

I am not a speed junkie or anything. But the extra speed would be useful for riding up and safe overtaking at the North South Highway. Plus it can spice up those boring long rides once in awhile.

Im pretty sure the VFR800 engine is more than capable.

    Seriously...I'm not too sure yet...

I've only done about 190km/h on NSHW...with my wife as pillion...

Didn't wanna try the speed further as she's wearing open face and her helmet was pulling her head back...

But yes...it should be more than capable of going beyond 200km/h...

some euro riders have hit 200+ already...

but.....I feel the comfy speed range for the CR is around 150-160...

PS: jus went to fix up my side panniers..apparently, the CR rack design from Hepco cannot be used to fix the Xplorer top and side case. The side panniers cannot be opened due to the top opening being blocked by the top case...

i ended up using the side opening Junior cases.....

Hi beary, I've been looking around for a set of panniers and top box. But seems like quite hard to get a good set. Would like to know what configuration you're using. If you're free to let me view your ride in person would be even better. Haha. Anyway if I'm not wrong you live only a couple of blocks away from me.

Hi beary, saw your bike at SLS @ 545pm. Your top box seem dont go along with side pannier well. Just my point of view.

hahaha! if u saw my previous post....u'll know why...

intially, i ordered the Xplorer complete set...

had the TC up first cos side rack was not in SG yet...finally, after waiting for months, i can fix up the side panniers...

den realised...once the side panniers were up, rack was too close and the opening was blocked by the bottom of the TC, hence it had some problem opening...

so no choice, gotta settle with a side-opening panniers...

I did post a warning on your NC side to look out for this rack problem...dun trust wedsite pics..cos I saw a CR with complete Xplorer series..still..shits happens....

Sounds like my profile. I went to BS TP try the bike. I found it to be a lot heavier than the NC700S. Yes a little tiptoe.

I m quite like the size but i wonder is it hard for Singapore street riding? Does it heats up a lot?

There seems to be some interest about the storage options for the CR here. Pls allow me to post some pictures and my review of the GIVI Simply top box and V35 for FYI. I rode this bike during my Alps ride earlier in June this year over a 10 riding days over a distance of 2,000km through temperature ranging from zero to 33 degrees, through rain and snow-shovelled roads. See here http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums...pean-Alps-RideCR 4.jpgCR 1.jpgCR 2.jpg

Hope it help you guy make a decision.

My review of this GIVI storage system comprising a 41L Simply top box and a pair of V35 (35L) panniers.

    1. The GIVI Simply top box is invaluable. It is 41L capacity. Can take 2 full face helmets namely an M-sized Arai RX7 and a AGV Stealth S4 L size. Need some manipulation to fit the two in it. Very sturdy and if fully laden, affects the handling somewhat, though not to the extent that it causes any stability or safety concern. I would not hesitate to use this. The lock is a bit stiff, maybe due to its newness or the very cold condition - something a squirt of WD40 would ease. The shape of the box and the clamshell opening is an ideal 40/60 lid/base split proportion that allows stuffing easily and closure to be a cinch. This last comment came to mind only because I own a Triumph Sprint GT which I purchased with an optional top box which is very heavy and is a pain to stuff to the max as things get snagged in the very stiff 50/50 lid/base proportion. This becomes an issue when you are touring and need to pack and repack frequently.

    2. V35 Panniers: This wont carry a full face helmet however which way I try to stuff it. Due to the nice sculpted organic shape, it does not carry stuff efficiently. It is however okay if most of what you pack is soft pliable things such as clothes. The lid/base opens nearly 50/50 and is restrained by a thin string anchored on both ends by a self-tapping screw. The lid is hinged at the bottom and when it lid drops opened unrestrained, this cause the screw to pull free and -that's it. No more restraining string. Both cases suffered the same fate, so it became a pain when you need to reach for something enroute. Both panniers leaks! badly.or it could be because I overload them?

The bracket for the panniers are installed very close within the body fairings and does not look obtrusive with the panniers removed. It is a tad wide (for me) as it is with any pannier-ed bikes and will hamper lane splitting. I need to constantly remind myself that there are panniers on the bike to prevent me ramming into others when lane splitting. This is testament to a mount-it-and-forget-its-there quality?
Handles are nicely sized for grip and to carry around.

Panniers share the same keys but top box has a different key. A single key system would be nice.

Overall, these are excellent storage options that fit well visually with this bike and does look like it is built with the bike in mind. Apart from the weak restraining screw points everything works great and even withstand a tip-over with very minimal scuffing of the panniers. In fact, I suspect the panniers saved the bike from more cosmetic blemish if not.

    Hope this review helps.

    Cheers

Go for Crossrunner if you want power otherwise NC for local commuter should be good.

bro..can't help u much on this..

more of personal feel...NC has very good fuel consumption...but, dats about the plus point for me...

CR..mount the bike, like the feel, buy...

i strongly suggest, do up a checklist of what you want or a bike wishlist and do the ticks...

in the end, the one with the most ticks win...

eg. Looks, power, handling, parts, after-market parts, price, etc...

ultimately, you must like the bike...no point buying and regretting after 6 months..u know wat i mean?

i like CR because of its "conceptual" looks...road/touring bike, with a little off-road capabilities and looks.
Good riding posture for long distance..except for the windshield...
    otherwise, I'm loving the bike!

beary, you said you ride with your wife? how is the pick up with 2 up and luggages? need to drop gear to overtake? also how about from a stop position? good pick up? you mentioned you were able to hit 190km/h with your wife as pillion? nice. im looking at this bike and the bigger crosstourer but so far no decent reviews out yet

I have not problem with pick-up, afterall, how bad can it be with V4 and Vtec?

Overtaking at 80km/h and above, got very decent overtaking power...no need for dropping gear, unless u r the very agressive rider type, den, sure, dropping gear will give u more response...

in fact, we hit almost 200km/h...but the wind turbulance was getting strong, and safety reason, i didn't go beyond...

CR is a fun touring bike with very slight off-road capabilities...good pick-up power, smooth handling...

    Cheers!

I saw a CR with Camo prints all over it. Very sweet......I was driving on ECP and trailed you and kept telling me wife about it. Awesome ride bro. Hope I did not scare you trying to keep up with you.

I ride a VFR1200 and used to ride the VFR800.....I think the CR is really a beauty.....maybe should go try it.

i had tried calling to order...but the service attitude..err...

anyway, from what i know so far...only LeoVinc is approved for CR now...

I order Remus 2 months ago....till now, stock not here yet..and not approved by LTA as well...sianz...

CR too rare in SG..hence, not many shops wanna bring the exhausts in and get LTA approval...

I spotted the CR for the first time few months back, a silver colour one parked at Defu Lane 10. Stopped to take a look as I have never seen this make. This bike was parked there everyday, on the pavement of a automobile repair workshop opposite a coffeeshop. I fetch my wife off work almost everyday so get to see it.

After that, I was thinking of waiting for the owner to ask more about it, but sadly it never appeared again.

Im shopping for big bikes. Used to ride FJR1300 and enjoyed it a lot. Massive power and virtually maintenance free shaft. Lots of storage and wind protection. Highest speed gone on it is 220km/h. Never tried it since.
Not been riding for almost 2 years.

Im in dilemma whether to go for TDM or VFR800x. Since both has its own strength and weaknesses, i wonder if anyone has either rode both bikes before?

    Your feedback is much appreaciated.

    Thanks
