still need to clean the chain once every 2 month to maintain the 90% clean.

Its dirty because i sprayed a light layer of maxima chain wax as the engine oil(10w40) will run off under heavy rain or not using the bike for long.

With the outlet positioned that way, it shields away from the tyres which results in no mess on the tyres. Also, the sprocket will "carry the oil" and spins it at high velocity to the inner parts of the chains. Fling off will be on the ground.

I'm using the $4/L 4t from lab. I wonder how 70w to 90w or 2t oil works. Anyway, sprocket mount has no fling on the rims and chains are extremely lubricated.

The oil flow is so restricted that ive been having problems diy pouring oil in. Maybe ill do a reservoir or a Y joint

Hi tony chan! Thanks for your detailed step by step guide, but where can I get the valve switch, the transparent tubing and the orange sealant? Will normal silicone sealant works? I've been looking for the items above for quite a awhile

Simple solution to my problem (:
Soon to tidy things up (:

Anyway, 2t is thicker than 10w40.
As to whether its "thick enough" well. Stay tuned (:

Those who doesnt want to buy sealants and reservoirs, you can use singer oil bottle(those non refillable ones of which the top cant be unscrewed.) However, you can do a suction top up if you know what i mean.

An aquarium tube can be used to squeeze into the narrow feeder.

Those who has problem with aquarium tubes, can get those harder ones at clementi block 328.
even sells those extremely hard premium ones in black and transparent.

Did my oiler from the steps given by tony chan, edited some part of it

Using normal plastic bottle and 2 metal valve switch from fish shop, tubes too, everything is working fine just that there are minor spill to my rims..

Will keep track of the leaking from the tubes connecting to the valve switch

    hmm...
lost my pics on current oiler set up with the metal valve...
am planning to do up my twin tips...
    but a bit lazy...
    hehe...

attached is 2 pics of my old set up with the fish tank valve and my oil container...

    Photo-0075.jpg

    Photo-0077.jpg

anyway my fish tank valve lasted me 2 weeks+ before leaking and the tubing also starts to get really soft...
in the end got the metal valve and thicker plastic tubing
    from this shop

my current valve has no leak for the last almost 1 year...
i use 1 valve for both flow control and on/off..
tubing i got 4mm dia which is just nice to restrict the flow to a nice rate...

A week on 2t as opposed to my 4t. Result is a stickier chain that attracts grime and dirt but cleaner than what i maxima chain wax would have. Stay on the chain longer i suppose. Now back on 4t to see if it will clean up the chain (:

I wish to thank the ts. I diy my auto on/off oiler from his detailed posts. Of coz I have my own touch to it. Yesterday pure luck, wanna shorten my wires so I tap my wire to my signals relay. To may amazement, now my oiler is no longer a flow but a intermittent flows of oil. Juz the way it suppose to be.

    Upz for ts

Upz for my NOS chain oiler hahahahaha

I oil my chain with my used engine oil whenever i feel like it. Sometimes once a week, sometimes once every month, and my bike is still running fine.

I rarely get down and clean my chain nowadays. Just spam EO and go on expressway, and hey presto! Cleaner chain.

Now who can build an oiler for me? Pls pls pls pls pls.

felt that doing a diy oiler takes too much time adjusting flowrate.
Now im armed with a mini bottle of 2t wherever i go pour it on the lower part of the chain before i ride.

ya i have the same feeling about flowrate and leakage issues. I thinking of a modified design on the oil bottle, can be tilt to drip on the chain and sprocket, after that tilt back to stop the flow. This should work.

My DIY dual oil dispenser, using a 4mm Y union push on connector, 4mm OD tubing and cotton swap (trim off the cotton buds). 1 strip of metal strap, screw, nut, washer and cable tie to secure on the bike.
